Distressed sea lion rescued from California highway
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calf. (KTVU) - A sea lion was rescued during the Tuesday morning commute.
According to CHP San Francisco, Good Samaritans called to report a sea lion in distress on 101 northbound, just south of the South San Francisco exit around 8:33 a.m.
The group of people had worked to corral the animal, so it wouldn't get into traffic.
When CHP Officer Pereira arrived on scene he opened the door to his patrol vehicle and the sea lion willingly jumped into the back seat.
The sea lion, which appeared to be in good health, was taken to Peninsula SPCA for treatment.
